Why Forerunner?
Today’s global energy sector is facing unprecedented challenges. We are contending with rampant load growth across industries, escalating electricity prices and a political environment that has made building every type of energy infrastructure more difficult than ever. And while existing clean energy solutions like solar and wind remain critical to securing a decarbonized energy future, we need new ideas and new technologies to tackle the emerging issues of the current energy moment. Thankfully, there are tons of amazing companies just getting started on promising climate technologies with massive market disruption potential. We just need to get their projects built.
I started Forerunner because I love figuring out what it takes to get hard things done, and building first-of-a-kind energy infrastructure is no exception. Over my 10+ years of working in the climate sector, I’ve come to appreciate that building energy projects takes a lot more than technology. It requires things like developable land, a full suite of permits, long-term bankable customer agreements, a vector to distribute product and third-party financing. I’ve been fortunate to cross paths with numerous passionate entrepreneurs working on amazing clean energy ideas, many of which deserve a chance to enter the market but whose teams require the non-technical expertise to successfully deploy their solutions in a commercial environment.
This is where I come in. Forerunner offers clients targeted, specialized support in business development and finance for energy infrastructure, helping these teams get the hard things done and put steel in the ground.
